The 2026 National People’s Congress and
Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (the “Two Sessions”) have
concluded successfully, with reform and innovation emerging as key themes
throughout the meetings. The policy signals sent by the Two Sessions have
charted a course for the development of China’s manufacturing sector—using
technological innovation as the core driving force to accelerate the industry’s
transition toward high-end, smart, and green manufacturing.
As a key representative of China’s
construction machinery industry, XCMG lifting machinery is leveraging technological
innovation and smart manufacturing to accelerate industrial transformation and
upgrading, translating the spirit of the Two Sessions into practical momentum
for the company’s high-quality development.
Driving Industrial Upgrading Through Technological Innovation
Stepping into XCMG’s flexible smart
production line for 1,000-ton-class wheeled lifting machinery, one sees robotic arms
operating with precision while a digital twin system monitors production data
in real time. This is a key practical setting where XCMG continuously advances
independent innovation.
Through long-term technical research and
development, XCMG has achieved 100% independent control over core components
for cranes under 300 tons, and its 1,000-ton-class lifting machinery products have broken
world records seven times in a row. Leveraging modular design and flexible
intelligent production lines, the company can support over 1,200 product
configurations, enabling more flexible and efficient production and delivery.
As global market demand continues to grow,
the proportion of overseas orders for XCMG’s lifting machinery has steadily
increased, and the “one-to-one” personalized customization model has become the
standard operating practice.
Building a Collaborative Innovation Ecosystem
This year’s Government Work Report proposed
strengthening the role of enterprises as the main drivers of innovation and
supporting leading technology companies in spearheading the formation of
innovation consortia.
Against this backdrop, the “Jiangsu
Provincial High-End Engineering Lifting Machinery Innovation Consortium,” led
by XCMG Heavy Industry, was successfully selected for the provincial innovation
consortium list. It is the only innovation consortium in the engineering
lifting machinery sector north of the Yangtze River to be selected, and the
sole representative from Jiangsu’s machinery industry.
Currently, more than 1,000 upstream and
downstream enterprises in Xuzhou are participating in the construction of the
construction machinery innovation system. Through technology sharing, joint
standard-setting, and talent development, they are gradually forming an
innovation ecosystem that promotes the coordinated development of industry,
academia, research, application, and finance, providing sustained momentum for
industrial upgrading.
Smart Manufacturing Enhances Development Quality
The 15th Five-Year Plan proposes
accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system centered on
advanced manufacturing.
As one of the first enterprises nationwide
selected for the “Flagship Smart Factory” cultivation list, XCMG lifting machinery continues to advance its transformation and upgrading toward smart
manufacturing. By integrating 5G full-connectivity technology, digital twin
systems, and global collaborative manufacturing capabilities, the company is
accelerating its shift from traditional mass production to a large-scale
customization model.
Taking 1,000-ton-class lifting machinery as an
example, the lead time from order placement to product delivery has been
reduced from 340 days to 120 days, and a more transparent, efficient, and
collaborative smart manufacturing system is gradually taking shape.
Promoting the Intelligent Development of the Industrial Chain
During this year’s Two Sessions, National
People’s Congress Deputy Shan Zenghai proposed the suggestion to “take the lead
in establishing a pilot base for AI applications in construction machinery,”
providing a new direction for the industry’s intelligent development.
Leveraging technical platforms such as the
XCMG Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute and the HanClouds Industrial
Internet Platform, XCMG is extending its intelligent manufacturing expertise to
upstream and downstream segments of the industrial chain. The company has also
distilled its “Seven-Star Navigation” model into a maturity framework for
intelligent manufacturing and an industry-standard system.
Currently, these practices have been
implemented across XCMG’s 35 global manufacturing bases and adopted by over 120
enterprises throughout the industrial chain, providing robust support for the
development of the Xuzhou construction machinery industrial cluster.
From the venues of the Two Sessions to the
production front lines, reform and innovation are becoming the core driving
forces behind the development of China’s manufacturing sector. Looking ahead,
XCMG lifting machinery will continue to innovate and upgrade smart manufacturing, advancing high-quality development and strengthening “Made in China.”
